Nobody likes to feel fear because it’s negative and unpleasant emotion. However, it is also a very useful emotion to have because the main purpose of fear to alert your attention to, and prepare your body for a threat that could potentially harm or kill you.

If you didn’t feel afraid in certain situations you would end up doing things that needlessly endangered your life, thereby increasing your risk of suffering from an injury or death. So in other words, you need to feel fear in order to keep yourself alive.
